5. To remove links from each platform chain, do

the following. Raise platform to a comfort-

able work height (FIG. 21-1A). Support the

bottom of platform to remove tension from

LH and RH chains. Next, unfasten both u-

bolts from platform (FIG. 21-1B). Remove

a 1 or 2 links (as required) from both chains.

Then, fasten u-bolts to platform as shown in

(FIG. 21-1C). Tighten jam nuts securely.
